AAC SIG
Augmentative & Alternative Communication Special Interest Group
As a membership body that is focused on improving augmentative and alternative communication, it was really important that AAC SIG's website played a positive part in establishing dialogue with and between its members: AAC users, professionals, academics, families and friends.
Working with AAC SIG's committee, I created a website that provided the accessibility its AAC-using members required. Working with Squarespace platform, the new website enabled this grassroots organisation to
manage updates directly.
improve the ease of membership management - increasing membership sign-ups by more than 50% in the first year.
organise extensive resources for the wider AAC community - including regular online training & conference events.
"I can see the membership payments rolling in.... And we don't have to do anything! They're populating a mailing list for us which we can then ping an email to when we are getting closer to an event. Easy peasy!
